So...I haz blurb for my November release The War Hero's Locked-Away Heart:

Reaching for the stars-with Nurse Skye...

Haunted by the ghosts of his fallen comrades, ex-army medic Adam Miller hopes to find salvation in beautiful Atanga Bay. Yet despite his intense attraction to feisty nurse Skye Williams, Adam's determined never to get close to anyone ever again. But with Skye by his side maybe it's time to put the past to rest for good...

Yummy yes?

And here's a reminder of hunk Adam...

The War Hero.....super cover love

My third book- The War Hero's Locked-Away Heart is due out in November.

I'm still waiting for the blurb from my editor but here's a bit about the story-

This was a difficult book to write- ex-army medic Adam has got PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), he doesn't want love, right? He just wants to be left alone.

Enter seriously fun Skye who just wants to spread her wings and fly. Falling in love certainly isn't on her traveling schedule.

Drop by soon and there'll be an excerpt up here too.

I've just found the cover for it on Amazon- what do you think?

I'm loving the sexy arms and his stubbled chin!!

Oh, and you get the chance to win five thousand pounds apparently!!!

I say go for it!

Release day!

Super exciting day today- my new release Waking Up With His Runaway Bride hits the shops in Australia and New Zealand!

It's available from most Warehouse and Whitcoulls stores - or online as an ebook from millsandboon.co.uk

I've been thrilled with the reviews so far- I even managed a ten out of ten out of notoriously difficult to please Rubcale

Here's a sample of some of the reviewer's comments...

"Well defined, easy-to-relate-to characters especially the compellingly sexy Connor and a modern day compelling plot as he and Mim struggle to overcome long standing problems make for an engrossing read." (Rubcale on Mills and Boon website)

"Louisa George brings this exceptional story alive for us on the pages. It is a gripping tale of second chances and past secrets. This story hooked me from the very first page and I wanted to know how it would all end."

WAKING UP WITH HIS RUNAWAY BRIDE is an emotionally satisfying story which will keep a reader engrossed from the very first page!" (Nas Dean on Mills and Boon website)

Here's the blurb:

Blurb:

Their make-or-break reunion...
Mim McCarthy needs to focus on saving her clinic—not her insufferable yet outrageously sexy ex Dr Connor Wiseman. He might have grown into those cheekbones, but she knows he won’t have forgiven his runaway fiancée so easily! Yet it’s impossible to deny the sparks between them – their fights used to be legendary, but their making up might be even more momentous…

Still not sure you want to buy? Even after that introduction?

Well, I have a sneak preview for you if you click on the Waking Up... page above and read an excerpt!

RWA Nationals!

I'm getting very excited as I'm going to my first ever Romance Writers of America National conference next week in Anaheim, Orange County USA!!

I'm also taking part in the Literacy signing- where hundreds of authors sell/sign their books and a portion of the revenue goes to the Proliteracy Worldwide charity.  To find out more about this event, who's attending and who will be signing click here.

I've been to a few romance writing conference before- in Australia and New Zealand, but nothing on such a scale as this. There are over 2000 delegates, so I'm expecting a wall of noise, chaos of dizzying proportions and a good amount of fun.

So, catch up with my news when I'm back- early August!

Seems my blogs at the moment are all about cover love- but I couldn't wait to show you all my most recent one. This is for Book Two- Mim and Connor's story, which is out in July in UK...not sure about the rest of the world...but I would imagine August.... As soon as I have a definite date, I'll let you all know!

But I digress...here it is:

So- verdict??????

I LOVE it- very HOT!!!!!

The Sydney Opera House in the smaller picture pertains to Fiona MacArthur's book, Marco's Temptation.

And, to be honest, I'm not sure which book the couple belongs to, but as this is my blog, I'm saying they're mine!!

In the News!

I belong to a fabulous organization of writers - Romance Writers of New Zealand. It is a supportive and generous group of (mostly) women who share their expertise, friendship and knowledge of writing. Last year at conference some of our members were interviewed by a journalist for the New Zealand Herald newspaper and last week the article finally came to print! I wasn't interviewed, but I was photographed along with a couple of other NZ writers. Jane Beckenham, the other author in the photo, is singularly responsible for my beginning interest in Romance novels.

Find the article here: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/news/article.cfm?c_id=6&objectid=10784691

It was a real hoot to see my name in print - and to show off my new book!

The best bit was that also in the newspaper that day there was a huge article about Nora Roberts, in defence of Romance writing. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/news/article.cfm?c_id=6&objectid=10785493

It's not often you can say you rub shoulders in the same paper with your writing hero!

Since the article was published I've had a few friends/ acquaintances approach me and ask for details of my writing so it has certainly raised my profile. But it was bizarre when, in the middle of a hot and sweaty zumba class, one of the women pointed at me with that knowing glint on her face that said I know what you do. LOL!

So now my secret is out - the whole world (well, northern New Zealand - and those who actually take time out to read the Weekend section....) knows about my romance writing. I'm still so thrilled about my book and so proud to be part of the Mills and Boon family, I can't wait for more of those I know what you do looks!

DEBUT BOOK ON SALE!

So, this is it - the day I've been waiting for pretty much all my life!

One Month to Become a Mum is now available for purchase from www.millsandboon.co.uk

I'm all kinds of nervous, excited and scared in equal measure!

This book came out of the Mills and Boon New Voices contest in 2010 (after four sets of revisions!) and I'm thrilled to finally see it on the shelves!

Here's the blurb:

Some things in life are worth waiting for…

Jessie Price has lost her only chance at motherhood – it’s a constant hurt, until she meets sinfully sexy single dad Dr Luke McKenzie and his gorgeous little girl. Luke’s intoxicating kisses and his daughter’s adoring hugs have Jessie longing for the impossible. But she's a temporary locum, the clock’s ticking – and there’s only a month to make all her wishes come true…

I'll keep you posted with any reviews or further news, in the meantime I'll crack on with the next book...

Until next time,

Louisa x

First Book out soon!

Happy New Year! Very best wishes for a fabulous 2012!

Hope you have made your resolutions and -over a week into them - are you finding a new you with a resolve and determination to make this year your best ever?

My resolutions are simple, I find that keeping them low key and achievable is the way to go:

-Lose the extra 3 kilos I put on over the Xmas period
-Spend more time with my family and friends
-Quit the procrastination!
-Avoid melodrama unless it's on the page!
-Eat extra chill (I'm such a chilli wimp, but I'm told I'm missing out so I'm giving it a try)

It's turning out to be a very exciting year for me - I have two books coming out! The first is: One Month to Become a Mum, out in March 2012 in UK (April-Jun in US/Aus). The 2nd book: Waking Up with his Runaway Bride is due out in July in UK and Aug/Sep for US/Aus. Both are from the Harlequin Mills and Boon Medical Line.

Book three is trundling along in its infancy -I am 3 chapters down and can't wait to see what chapter four bring for this quirky couple. Skye is planning a move to the other side of the world, but meets Adam, a brooding ex-army medic with a whole heap of issues. Their first meeting is filled with chemistry and sizzling heat, something they both need to avoid at all costs!

Tell me, what are you hoping for in 2012?

Until next time,
Louisa xx
